Indian Army is much remembered for its part in two world
wars and Indo-China and Indo-Pak wars. The headquarters of Indian Army is
situated at Sena Bhavan at Red Fort, Delhi. A job in defence sector is not a

Educational
Qualification:
10th pass in English and
Science or its equivalent
Age
limit:
Upper age limit for candidates is 23
years
Citizenship:

Physical
Requirements:
1) Height:
Candidates
must be of 167 cm in height. Relaxations may apply for candidates belonging to some
specific states.
2) Chest

3) Weight:

Kg or above
4) Others:
Candidates

Degree
courses in Defence sector and their scope:
Apart from joining in entry level using minimum
qualification, candidates who are graduates from Defence colleges can also
become officers in various departments. The various courses offered in Defence

B.A. Defence and Strategic Studies
The
course duration is 3 years. The minimum qualification required to enroll for
this course is 12th completion.
ii)
B.Sc. Defence Studies
The
course duration is 3 years. The minimum qualification required to enroll for
this course is 12th completion.
iii)
M.A. (Defence and Strategic Studies/Defence
and National Security Studies):
An undergraduate degree from any of
the stream is essential to enroll for this course. For some specific courses UG
in Defence and Strategic Studies is essential.
iv)
M.Sc. Defence studies:
UG in Defence and Strategic Studies is
essential to enroll for this course.
v)
M.Phil Defence and Strategic Studies:
A post graduate degree in same
discipline with a minimum of 55% of marks is required. Applicants are required
to clear a preliminary written test and interview to be admitted to this
course. Some colleges provide this course by distant education and part time
education mode also.
vi)
Ph.D. in Defence Studies:
A post graduate degree in Defence and
strategic studies is essential. Students will be selected based on their
